Bluebell Railway
Volunteer-run steam railway through 11 miles of the Sussex Weald
About Bluebell Railway
The Bluebell Railway runs vintage steam trains for 11 miles through the Sussex Weald between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead, stopping at Horsted Keynes and Kingscote along the way. Mostly run by volunteers, it has been carrying passengers since 1960 and looks after a large collection of steam locomotives and carriages. Sheffield Park station is the main visitor base, with engine sheds, a shop and refreshments, and each restored station along the line has its own period character. As well as regular services there are dining trains, afternoon tea specials and themed gala days. Running days change with the seasons, so check the timetable before you set off.
