Rye sewing company selling fabrics, patterns and haberdashery
Merchant & Mills is a sewing company based in Rye, with its shop in a former toy factory on Tower Street, close to the Landgate. It stocks woven cloth such as linens, cottons and wools, alongside the firm's own printed dressmaking patterns and a range of needles, scissors, threads and other haberdashery. The company sells online and through stockists further afield, but the Rye shop is the place to see and handle the fabrics in person. A second shop, HOUSE, is a short walk away on Lion Street, and the business has run sewing workshops in the town. Weekday and weekend hours differ, so check before visiting.
