About Resident Music

Resident has been selling records from Kensington Gardens in the North Laine since 2004 and describes itself as a truly independent shop. Racks of new vinyl and CDs sit alongside music books and band merchandise, so there is plenty to browse. The shop is also known for its in-store performances, signings and listening parties, which give fans the chance to see artists in a far smaller space than usual, and it runs off-site gigs too. If you can't visit in person, a mail-order service ships worldwide, and gift vouchers are available. It is a short walk from Brighton station, making it an easy first stop on a North Laine wander.
