About West Wittering Beach

West Wittering Beach is a long sandy beach at the mouth of Chichester Harbour, owned and run by the West Wittering Estate, a local company. Visitors come to swim, paddle, windsurf and paddleboard, to walk out to the East Head sand spit, and to watch boats moving in and out of the harbour. A large car park sits behind the beach, with spaces that can be booked in advance at busy times. Car park hours change with the seasons, so check the estate's website before travelling, where beach updates are also posted. There is a beach cafe on site, and the village of East Wittering, with its shops and cafes, is a short drive along the coast.
